Tips to Score Well with Mom on Mother’s Day

  1. Invite her over for brunch. Since everyone loves a good #SUNDAYFUNDAY, call/text her over for an afternoon brunch. Be sure to tidy up your apartment though. It's a good time to declutter and put away items that would be distracting or unuseful for the occasion. Clear off the sofa for comfortable seating and add some decorative pillows to make the setting cozy. You can search the web for recipes or cook one of her favorite recipes. But if your stuck, just know that eggs, bacon, muffins, and fruit pairs well with a mimosa (orange juice & champagne), poinsettia (cranberry juice & champagne) or hawaiian (pineapple juice and champagne)!
  2. Take her on a virtual tour. If mom is bummed out that she can't visit places because of her health (or the country's health), take her on a virtual tour of her favorite city, country, or museum. Whether it's the the National Smithsonian in DC or the Museum of Modern Art, mom can enjoy her favorite place from the comfort of home.
  3. Scapebook memorable photos Just because the majority of people share and house their photos online or through social media doesn't mean you can't still get creative to leave a lasting impression. Remember, mom comes from an era of polaroids. Nothing beats the feeling of opening a scrapbook and basking in the nostalgia of fond family memories. Buy an empty scrapbook, print some photos of a family trip or just a few favorites you she loves, then get to work. You both will enjoy the reminiscing!

Happy Mother's Day!
